Customize Your Dashboard

Your dashboard shows you – at a glance – the information that is most important to you across projects, teams, and workspaces. You may use your dashboard as your primary place to work in CA Agile Central where you make updates, get status, and view charts.

Your dashboard helps you quickly gather the following information:

  • What's changed that's relevant to me?
  • Are we going to meet our commitment?
  • Do we need to adapt our plan?
  • Who needs my help?
  • What work items need my attention?

When you first log into CA Agile Central, you may have been asked to identify your role. CA Agile Central uses this information to set up a default dashboard for you. You can always add apps from other roles to your dashboard, and you can customize your dashboard at any time.

Customizing your dashboard includes the following:

Add Apps to Your Dashboard

You can customize your dashboard by selecting the Actions gear drop-down menu. You then have the option to add an app or change the layout of the dashboard.

The dashboard is similar to a custom page with a few minor differences:

  • You cannot create multiple dashboards, but you can create multiple custom pages.
  • The dashboard is always located under the Home tab , whereas custom pages may be place under any tab in CA Agile Central.
  • You cannot copy a dashboard, but you can create multiple copies of a custom page.
  • Custom pages may be private or shared with all users in a workspace.

Install the Custom List (formerly Custom Grid) app to sort and filter CA Agile Central data in a grid-based format:

Custom Grid

The Query field in the app settings menu provides you with the ability to filter the data with SQL-style queries through the CA Agile Central Web Services API.

Install the Custom URL app to view external web resources or websites within a custom page:

Custom URL

Note: We are aware of a bug where the Custom URL app either returns an unhelpful error or does not load content for some URLs if the destination website does not allow iframes from pages with different origins to display. With many companies increasing the security of their webpages, this is going to be much more common. Fails occur for http:// as well as https:// depending on how the target site's security is set up.

Many of the charts that are available from the Reports Tab are also available as apps. You may add the same chart to your dashboard more than one time if you wish to view status for multiple teams separately.
